Portfolio Companies

Four companies now comprise the Juno company portfolio in U.S. based manufacturing. In addition, Juno exited in 2007 from a fifth company, PDM Bridge LLC.

AO is a leader in contract precision machining for the defense ⁄ aerospace and small arms industries. The company focuses on the manufacturing of medium to high volume quality metal products, which require extremely tight (i.e. “mil spec”) tolerances, a high degree of engineering complexity and a competitive cost structure. The company conforms to the Quality Program requirements of BSI–ISO 9001:2000.

AO is a leading supplier of M–16 and AR–15 rifle parts to the U.S. Government, tier-one government contractors and commercial gun manufacturers. AO utilizes state–of–the–art CNC machines to produce critical M–16 and AR–15 parts such as: the barrel extension, bolt, bolt carrier, extractor and upper and lower receivers. AO also supplies precision machine components for the aerospace, medical, and commercial markets.

The company is located in Galion, Ohio. Galion owns a 100,000 square foot facility, as well as several adjacent undeveloped acres which are slated for expansion.

Over the last 50 years, Galion has produced mil-spec quality machined metal parts for the defense, automotive and similar industries. The company currently focuses a majority of its machining capacity on the production of medium caliber ordnance (projectiles) for guns that are mounted on the A-10, F-15, F-16 and F-18 fighter jets, helicopter gunships and Phalanx weapons systems on U.S. Navy vessels. Galion forms and paints these projectiles. The projectiles are then delivered to the prime military contractors for final loading, assembly and test firing. The company conforms to the Quality Program requirements of BSI-ISO 9001:2000.

Historically a screw machine shop, Galion has recently expanded its product line by acquiring CNC machining capabilities.

Optim Incorporated, headquartered in Sturbridge, MA, provides flexible endoscopes and technical lighting solutions for industrial and medical applications that are based upon Optim’s patented LED lighting technology.

Optim has 23 FDA 510(k) approvals for medical endoscopy and its medical endoscopes provide physicians with superior imaging for minimally invasive diagnosis and therapy while lowering the cost of healthcare delivery.

Optim’s patented LED lighting solutions are rapidly moving the Company toward a leadership position in endoscopy, and have created new opportunities to fill an unmet need for high intensity light delivered into remote locations.

Optim, an ISO 9001–2000, ISO 13485, EN 46001 certified, FDA registered and FDA cGMP compliant manufacturing facility has ten issued patents and twenty other patents pending.

The company is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. SEMP owns a 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility on 12.3 acres of land.

SEMP is a contract Manufacturing Company that specializes in High Quality Fabrication and Stampings for various industries, including Telecommunications, heavy-duty Truck, Appliance, Health & Safety and Power industries. Southeastern Metal Products has been serving customers since 1952 and has established a reputation for high quality workmanship, dependable delivery and outstanding customer service.

Juno exited from this investment in 2007. PDM Bridge LLC (“PDM Bridge”) is a leading fabricator of structural steel components for the construction and renovation of bridges in the United States. PDM Bridge developed a niche in the fabrication of complex bridge structures that requires a greater degree of skill and precision such as railroad, arch, bascule, truss and box girder bridges. The company has two facilities in Wisconsin and one in Florida.
